Women need 3 types of men!

Some background to this article:

Two summers ago, I was having a conversation with a male friend. I laughed and told him for a woman to be fully satisfied she needs 3 men in her life. He asked me to tell him more about this. I finally have the nerve to write about this and for you to basically judge or cheer me on.

It's my birthday weekend, a nice glass or bottle of wine can be blames for my words.

Forget the idea of “one man fits all” – we’re talking about a team effort here. Before you think I’m advocating for polyamory (no judgment if that’s your thing) or a woman fi have nuff man and man inna bundle kinda thing, let me clarify. These three men don’t have to be three different persons, but they represent three essential roles every woman needs to thrive: the Fixer, the Provider, and the Boyfriend/Husband.

Let's get into it!

1. The Fixer

You know that guy who can solve any problem, fix anything that breaks, or give the perfect advice just when you need it most? Yep, that’s the Fixer. Whether it’s fixing the car, a leaky faucet, or simply talking you through a stressful day at work, the Fixer brings stability to your life. He’s the go-to guy when things go wrong, and there’s something undeniably comforting about knowing that no matter what happens, someone’s got it covered.

He’s like your personal superhero, minus the cape and spandex (unless, of course, you’re into that). Every woman needs a Fixer to step in, save the day, and remind her that she doesn’t have to do it all alone, because every gal needs that male in her life.

2. The Provider

Now, the Provider doesn’t just mean someone who throws money around. Sure, financial security is great, but the Provider is really someone who supports you in all the ways that matter—whether that’s emotionally, mentally, or yes, even financially. He’s the one who makes sure you feel safe, grounded, and that your needs are met. He provides stability, whether that’s paying the bills or being your emotional rock when life throws curveballs.

The Provider knows that being there for you is more than just financial—it’s about offering comfort, encouragement, and showing up when it matters most. This guy helps you feel secure enough to pursue your dreams, knowing someone has your back.

3. The Boyfriend/Husband

Ah, the Boyfriend or Husband—the romance, the fun, and the partner-in-crime, Bonnie and Clyde. This is the guy who makes you laugh, takes you out on dates, and knows how to turn a regular Saturday into a mini adventure. He’s the one you binge-watch your favorite shows with, go on road trips with, and cuddle up to at night. He’s the companion who shares your life, day in and day out.

The Boyfriend/Husband brings the fun and the emotional intimacy. He’s the one who knows your quirks and loves you for them, even if you snore ladies. He’s your best friend, lover, and, if he’s really got his act together, maybe even the Fixer and Provider all wrapped up in one.

So, whether you’re juggling different men in these roles (I’m not here to judge) or you’ve found a rare unicorn who ticks all three boxes, every woman deserves a Fixer, a Provider, and a Boyfriend/Husband. Together, they form the ultimate dream team for a life full of love, security, and—let’s not forget—fun.

Maybe they lied when they said can’t have it all?

Blessings,

Nekeshia
